Love is the Answer

Ashanty

Life continues to teach me just how different we are

But that one crimson ribbon runs through us all : pain.

No matter the language or color, the pain is real

Pain that stems deep beginning in adolescence

Pain that comes from broken homes

Broken homes being defined as not just a single parent household

But a parentless household

I hear so much of this common thread, it’s really quite surreal

That all of these broken people were, felt, are : loveless

Absentee parents whether physically or mentally

Lack of support

Lack of acknowledgement

Lack of guidance

Lack of reassurance

Leaving so many to fend for themselves trying to maneuver through a world blindly

Not really sure what they’re looking for

Only knowing they don’t want to keep feeling the way that it does : empty. lonely. in all reality : unimportant

Some find better ways. Better lives. True love

But unfortunately, not all find a resolution

Not all find peace

Peace & love

Peace within yourself
