The Black Album

So here we are in June 2020 and we are still fighting. I do not want to hear that I’m not black. This is a US problem. My daughters and sons are black. My brothers are black. My best friends in this world are black. We have momentum and we cannot let this go this time. We know we are looking for justice but behind all this is an unspoken thing occurring. If you are for black people, you will hire black people. You have to empower them, it’s that simple. The NFL put out a statement that they are for black people. So let me tell everyone the bullshit; two months ago the NFL told their owners if they hire black coaches they will earn more draft picks. They had to use incentives for the owners (by the way, not one black owner in the NFL) to hire black peoples as their head coach. This is disgusting. Let us not forget how they blackballed Colin Kaepernick (a true modern day hero). Colin fought for this very reason. Unarmed men and women dying in the hands of the police. The reality is white billionaires cannot see the issues past the portfolios. We have to stop being so forgiving and demand more. These riots cannot be the end game. We have to demand needs, our voice can finally be heard. If you are in politics demand a black agenda to make sure the president understand that we have needs. Do not vote just because you hate someone or because you want to fall in line with a political party.
This is our time. Let’s take advantage.
In the 1960s Martin Luther King was the most hated man in America. Think about that. The man that wanted every race in this country to stand together was hated the most. I repeated it because it is mind boggling to think we can sit in our high horse and just pass by without helping. If you can donate, donate to charities for minorities. If you have power, empower US. You do not have to be a somebody to do something. That is the point of social media, right? Social media is an outlet for opinions and a chance for everyone to be heard. We can change but it will take a village to do it. We cannot sit there and let one man/woman call the shots. We have to protect that man/woman and fight with them. We are not going to agree on everything but one thing we have to do is make sure we stick together. No matter what, we have to stick with the script. Let’s keep the eye on the prize and make sure our children have a better life than we had and that our grandparents had.
Please comment below, I would love to hear your opinions.
