"Growth"

As she stares into his eyes
Filled with love and adoration
She thinks back to a time when she dreamed of this destination
As she sits
She’s still not satisfied
Something missing from the bigger picture
Digging deep into herself
There’s something missing deep within her
As she sips her tea
Flavored of lavender and camomile
And inhales the aroma gently
She lets out a sigh of
“Finally alone time”
Her day filled with pleasing others
Now honing in on the little things
To satisfy needs of her own
Peace, quiet, and stability
A nice warm blanket is all she needs
Not even craving the touch of another
Just soak in her pool of petals
Sipping wine as she winds down
As she stares into her reflection
It’s hard to fully grasp her presence
Since harsh thoughts distort her vision
Of what she really sees
Affirmations of kind loving words
As she fakes it til she makes it
Help her manifest brighter things
Like self-love, self-compassion
Light and understanding
That she’s a soul having a human experience
Yet only human is what she claims
But each day inside she feels it growing
Her mind on a new plane
Of everything she desires
Her own best-friend
No longer looking for love in a man
